Selena Gomez's fame/career before and after Justin.
Selena Gomez has been known as the type of star that just goes after guys depending on their peak of fame. Quick timeline? This timeline will only focus on broad actions and we’re not going too much into detail with other people. That might be discussed in a different post.
In 2008, Selena suddenly becomes besties with Nick Jonas; someone who she stole from Miley Cyrus as we learned here. In 2008, the Jonas Brothers were just beginning their peak after they released their most successful album in the US which was called Jonas Brothers and it was 2x platinum. They got that 2x platinum in 2007 and Selena was suddenly their close friend. The following year, 2008, they were releasing another album called A Little Bit Longer which is almost 2x platinum. Pretty successful huh? What do you see in those successful years? Oh yes.. this
In 2009, the Jonas Brothers are still quite relevant but are slowly fading out.
So since they are fading out… who does Selena wanna find in 2009 to support Kiss & Tell’s sales since it failed to scrape the top 5 on Billboard???? Selena jumps to the new hottest thing and that’s Taylor Lautner.
New Moon becomes massively successful and relevant along with Taylor’s abs so of course, Selena leaves Nick Jonas and runs along to Taylor Lautner even if it’s only for a couple weeks.
As you can see above, Taylor’s peak which was in 2009, is the only time Selena was actually seen with him if it wasn’t for event purposes.
But uh oh… Taylor fades out a little bit so she goes back to her frst choice in 2010
And that was in early February of 2010.

Where is Selena? Is she with Nick? Is she with Taylor? No. Who is she with? Hmm I don’t remember. Oh wait, let me think what was a living creature that was starting to becoming one of the biggest stars in the world? Oh yes

Everyone is happy! :) Selena knows she mustn’t screw up! She needs that top 3 album! And maybe a top 20 single if we’re lucky. “This is her chance” Mandy whispers as she claws her fingers into Hollywood Records’, president. “Don’t mess it up.”
When The Sun Goes Down; Selena’s third album and her first album that’s getting released when everyone knows about Jelena. So what happens?

You suddenly see Selena… EVERYWHERE (with Justin of course) and you start seeing her at award shows that Selena’s never heard of since they never invited her until her boo came along. Suddenly, you see Selena hosting stuff.
She started getting more performances at RELEVANT award shows.
She started getting movie roles (she didn’t even need to audition for most of them because she’s Bieber’s girlfriend!)
Before Justin… where did we see Selena? Oh yes. At Disney events and barely at any real award shows.

So irrelevant that she wasn’t even referred to by her NAME or by her career, but as his girlfriend.
What’s truly embarrassing, is after the breakup
So irrelevant that the people who show up to her events, are Justin’s fans
Even AFTER the breakup, she was only known for him. She was only scraping headlines because of him. She had to shade him over 15 times just to get the attention on her.
Even AFTER the breakup, he’s been mentioned in 99% of her interviews. He’s the only thing about Selena that people are interested in.
Just because they broke up, doesn’t mean that she’s known for herself now. She’s still known for being someone who dated him and her most recent album, reflects that.
Stars Dance (2013, Jelena’s impact still exists)
- almost every review has Justin mentioned
- every interview, Justin is mentioned for being the topic of the songs
- every single, Justin is mentioned by everyone because they think it’s a message to him.
It’s gotten to the point where her career started revolving around him that the people that showed up to her concerts, were Justin’s fans. It’s gotten to the point where she wanted to kick Justin’s fans out of her concert.
Lol it’s so cute how Selena fans say that Selena likes and respects Beliebers. If she did, she wouldn’t kick them out of her show when they bought tickets. But then again, it’s not like she respects their idol if she shaded him like 4,000 times.
Back to what I was saying, so irrelevant to the point where the people who attend her concerts, know her because of Justin. On her We Own The Night Tour, she lied about Justin being a special guest so people can buy tickets. He never ended up coming and the Beliebers who were there… booed her… at her own concert… I start to feel bad for her but I mean why lie in the first place? However, we know damn sure that Selena’s untruthful because of this and this.
And now where is Selena? She’s at her un-sold out tour where she’s trying to scrape headlines by crying during Love Will Remember…. EVERYNIGHT.
Yeah.. pretty sure we could all tell it’s an act especially when Selena said she never loved Justin.
Lets be real, if Justin wasn’t involved in Selena’s career, Selena’s career would have fell faster than she falls off the stage after a hardworking hour of lip syncing
